The Humane Society of McCormick County invites you to an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for its new “Cat Haven”, Sunday September 24th from 11 am to 3 pm. The new dedicated shelter for cats is the latest addition to HSMC’s 50 plus acre refuge at 1351 Hammond Street, McCormick and represents several years of planning, tireless fundraising and hard physical labor by volunteers and supporters. The Cat Haven joins the already in place dog shelter, agility yard and feral cat enclosure and will afford cats a safe and comfortable temporary home while they await adoption to their forever family.
Tours of the facility will be offered with a meet and greet of the available kitties. A half price “Black Cat Appreciation” adoption special will be offered for those looking to adopt a black beauty. Light refreshments will be served throughout the day and a dedication and ribbon cutting will take place at 2 pm.
