June 11th Cat Adoption Event & Volunteer Meet and Greet – HSMC Shelter
The Humane Society of McCormick County will host a “cats and kittens” adoption day on Sunday June 11th with a June adoption fee special of just $10 for cats or kittens. The event will take place at HSMC’s private shelter at Hammond Road in McCormick from 11am to 3pm. Come find your new best feline friend who has been waiting patiently, paws crossed, for a forever home. Here you will be able to meet,, greet, pet, and play with adorable cats and kittens and see their true personalities in a relaxed atmosphere. HSMC has cats of all ages and a “bumper crop” of precious kittens. Select your new bff (best feline friend) from among super active and playful cats/kittens or a few “couch potatoes”. Many current kittens’/cats’ pictures and biographies can be found under “Adoptable” on the HSMC website at http://members.petfinder.com/~SC63/index.html . All HSMC cats and kittens have been vaccinated and spayed/neutered if age appropriate. All provide unconditional love.
In addition to this special adoption event, the volunteer cat team would like to show interested parties what it takes to become a member of the cat crew. HSMC is a 100% volunteer non-profit 501c3 organization that gets no state or federal funding and exists on private donations and fundraising. Volunteers are always needed for the daily care and feeding of cats and kittens waiting for adoption. In addition, foster homes are in demand as are individuals willing to assist in a community cat feeding and care program. The volunteers will be on hand to answer all questions, explain what they do and what YOU can do and also give a peek at the new cat shelter currently under construction on the 50 plus acres of HSMC property. Light refreshments will be offered from 1-3:30.
