Seven Keys to Baldpate is a classic mystery that opened on Broadway in 1913. The show was written by George M. Cohan, based on THE 1908 novel by Earl Derr Biggers, creator of the character Charlie Chan. This wonderful mystery/comedy is considered to be one of Cohans most innovative plays and is packed with mysterious characters and surprises galore! The story centers around writer Kenneth Magee, who has a bet that he can finish a story at the rural resort Baldpate Inn in only 24 hours. The Inn is closed for the winter and the owner has given him the “only” key to the front door. But, we soon discover that there are six other keys, and peculiar characters, some of them up to no good, who keep turning up as this classic mystery deepens.
